Lodging

The Doubletree Hotel at 315 Fourth Avenue North in downtown Nashville is the official hotel for the General Assembly.

The hotel is one block from the Legislative Plaza and two blocks from the Capitol. The Doubletree is a nice, business-class hotel.

Amenities include a Starbucks in the lobby and an indoor pool.

TISL delegations will receive a special rate of $99 per night for up to four guests per room. We have a fixed number of rooms at this price, so reserve early.

Dining

Three meals are included in the TISL Delegate Fee:

• Welcome Reception on Thursday evening
• Pizza supper on Friday
• Continental breakfast on Saturday

Additional information about dining options near the Capitol will be provided later.

Parking

Overnight valet parking at the hotel costs $18 per night.

Across the street is a public garage where the cost for overnight parking is $9 per night.

On Saturday and Sunday, on-street parking is free and should be plentiful.

It isn't practical to drive from the hotel to the Capitol.

Tip: Reduce the number of cars driven to Nashville.

Handicapped Access

The Capitol and the Legislative Plaza are part of an interconnected group of buildings with complete indoor, escalator and elevator access to all areas TISL will be using.

With advance request, we will arrange for delegates with special needs to park beneath the Legislative Plaza, from which they can access all areas.

You will need a credit card to make a reservation and at check-in to secure payment for incidental expenses.

* Avoid sales tax in either of two ways:

1) Bring a state sales tax exemption from your college and pay with a check or credit card in the college's name or

2) Take advantage of TISL's sales tax exemption by making your lodging check payable to TISL. Pay TISL $107 per room per night, which covers the room rate plus the hotel/motel taxes.

Directions to the DoubleTree

From Interstate 24, go to Interstate 65 and exit at Charlotte Pike (Exit 209).

From Interstate 40 and Interstate 65, exit at Charlotte Pike (Exit 209).

In any case, at the end of the Exit 209 ramp, turn east toward downtown and the Capitol.

Drive about nine blocks to Fourth Avenue, and turn right (south) onto Fourth Avenue.

Proceed one block, cross Deaderick Street and then pull into the DoubleTree on the right. You can unload your luggage and then park elsewhere.
