The General Assembly
GENERAL ASSEMBLY ORGANIZER
The annual TISL General Assembly is a four-day conclave of engaged and policy-minded college students from across the state at the Historic Tennessee State Capitol in Downtown Nashville. Typically, more than 400 students from more than 40 colleges and universities, representing more than 95% of Tennessee college students.
PROGRAMS AT TISL
Legislative
The Senate and the House have convened since 1966 to express the views of college students through a formal legislative process.
Judicial
The appellate moot court challenge features multiple teams of student lawyers debating the law before a panel of judges through rounds of debate
Lobbying
Lobbyists are organized into firms that represent the interests of such firm. They persuade legislators by providing information.
Media
Independent journalists cover the four-day event through social media, blogging, interviews, and printed releases about the GA.
